The past two weeks have been gnarly. Our house was burglarized, I came down with the stomach flu, and Chloe was diagnosed with swine flu. It has been a couple weeks of trials and difficulty. We've grieved, been frustrated, wondered why all this is happening, and then today comes along: Thanksgiving.
We are in good hands.
The knowledge that God's love for us is eternally strong, that none of these trials are inflicted upon us by him, and that he loves to turn these trials into stories of his irresistible love is humbling and something that we are deeply thankful for. Though it is hard, we are glad to be in the hands of a loving and faithful God.
Joe is thankful for...
An amazingly beautiful wife who takes care of me in more ways than I recognize (because I tend to be a bit thick). My twin daughters that I have the privilege of getting to know a bit more every day and who have taught me what it means to be "child-like". Working at The City is a tremendous blessing in a number of ways, the work is amazing, the people are remarkable, and the coffee is of snobbish quality! Thankful to be a part of Jesus' mission at Mars Hill Church, seeing people healed in every possible way, and worshiping with them on a weekly basis.
Jentry is thankful for...
an awesome God, a husband who loves me in so many ways and works so hard to provide for us, two very adorable daughters, a great family, a great church family, good friends and our safety in the last few weeks.
And of course...all of our friends who have cared and prayed for us over all the years. We love you guys!
